MR. W. A. HOTCHEN
The death has occurred at his, i residence in Otaki, after an illness, extending over several months, of i Mr. William Albert Hotchen, who for some years resided in Levin and was widely known throughout the district. The late Mr. Hotchen, who was 75 years of age, was born at ' ■ Bloomsbury, London, and came to New Zealand some 40 years ago. He first resided in the Hutt Valley • and about 30 years ago moved to Levin, where he started the daily Levin-Palmerston North return bus ; service, subsequently entering into ;partnership with Mr. P. F. Watts, i who continues the service to-day. Some years later Mr. Horchen ai&posed of his interest in the business and shortly after moved to Tawa Flat, purchasing a general store there. Three years ago he went into retirement at Otaki. The possessor of a bright and sunny disposition, with a rare sense of hum- : our, the deceased gentleman was the friend of everyone he came in contact with. The late Mr. Hotchen leaves a widow and family of two daughters, Mesdames J. Davies (Auckland) and J. Partington (Lower Hutt). They will have the symfoathy of many friends in their "bereavement.
