Received Tuesday 11.25 p.m. LONDON, June 4. The field for tomorrow's first postwar Derby, the first at Epsom for seven years, is not likely to number more than sixteen. ' The Two Thousancl Guineas winner Happy Knight and Lorcl Derby's Gulf Stream, are joint favourites. The Derby, though it ret'urns to Epsom, will not regain all its prewar colour and breathless excitement. Epsom, . despite the officials' frantic efforts in the last few months, still shows many signs of war, especially the blitzed grandstand and results of th& army's occupation ditring the war. The grandstand could not be repaired in time and will only hold a fraction of its capacity. The faet that travel facilities are not fully restored, will also add to the austerity. Another missing feature will be the gypsies who have been forbidden to pitch camps -on the downs whereon most of tomorrow's expectecl half a million spectators, will gather'. without admission charges.
