The Vice-Pi-emier,- Signor Nenni, bas announcecl that the referendum votes thus far couiited gave I; 509, 000 for a repifblic and 848,000 for a monarchy. Progress totals in the I-talian elections are as follow: — Christian Democrats . . 2,050,000 SocialiSts 1,365,000 Communists . . . ; . . . . 1,229,000 Then follow Democratic Union and Mazzinian Repuhlicans, each - of which thus far has polled 200, U00 and 300,000 votes.
