Though they have had only a few days' training since their arrival in I^ondon, the New Zealand Victory contingeiit marched cxcellently wlien they . had the first full rehearsal last Baturday. Eor the first timo botli the troops and tlie women 's serviees took up tlie formatioiis they will adopt in the parade and in two hours drilling on the broadwaJk along the Serpentine, fuifilled the promise of smartness and efiiciency. Since arrival the troops have traiuea eacli niorning aud spent cach afternoon aud evening on leave. Thoug:h sightseeing is somewhat restrieted by the weather, the. New Zealanders enjoyed conducted tours, many making a special point of visiting historic places of interest. Most are looking forward to travelling further afield. after tne parade. The troops' health is good. They are delighted with the organised entertainment provided which includes tickets for theatres. The Maunganui brought food to supplement the British rations and also five | cases of food as a gift from housewivcs in New Zealand for housewives in Bri- | tain. The contents of these cases are being made into pareels to be distributed from the Fernleaf Club. Captain Uphani arrived on May 31 by the first Lancastrian from' Australia to reach London's new airport at Heathrow.
