GISBORNE, June 4. A goods train was derailed by a slip early this morning at Paritu, in the hill section * of the WairoaGisborne line." It blocked the East Coast main trunk to-day and forced the cancellation of the normal services for passengers southward from Gisborne. .The department arranged the conveyance of passengers by road bus to Wairoa, where they will connect with the train for Napier. The slip resulted from the exceptionally heavy rain overnight.
