It is the Universal crime drama, | "The Suspect," directed by Robert : Siodmak and co-starring Charles Laughton and Ella Raines. Laughton is seen as a pleasant, mild-mannered man who is naggecl beyond endurance by his shrewish wife, played by Rosalind Ivan, Laughton's unhappiness increases when his son, Dean Harens, leaves hcme because of her. j In his loneliness Laughton turns ; to young, attractive Elia Raines i and there develops between the ! two a tender friendship which is j maliciously distorted by Laughj ton's wife.
