The death has occurred in Eng- ' land of the Deputy-First Sea Lord, i Admiral Sir Charles Kennedy. v The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr. Parry) arid the Minister of Education (Mr. Mason) left yesterday for the Chatham Islands. They will return on Sunday. In an Associate Member of the Institute of ' Mechanical Engineers examination, held last October, the institution states that Mr. Guy Nicholson, of Levin, passed in Section C of the examination for associate membership. Major J. A. Worsnop, M.B.E., N.Z.S.C., staff officer (training) of Burnham Camp, will command the Divisional Cavalry Regiment in -Japan with the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He will be succeeded at Burnham by Captain A.J. Steel, M.B.E., N.Z.P.S. Lieut.-Colonel G. M. McCaskill, Palmerston North, who has been Assistant - Adjutant - General at Army Headquarters in Wellington since his return to New Zealand after service in England and the Midale East during the war, has' been appointed to an administrative position with the Seeond N.Z.E.F. in Japan. Lieut.-Colonel McCaskill sails on the Empire Pride.
