RENOWN THEATRE
A film fraught with suspense and rich in expertly drawn characterisations comes to the; Renown Theatre to-night and to-morrow. It is the Universal crime drama, "The Suspect," directed by Robert Siodmak and co-starring Charles Laughton and Ella Raines. Laughton is seen as a pleasant, mild-mannered man who is nagged beyond endurance by his shrewish wife, played by Rosalind Ivan, Laughton's unhappiness increases when liis son, Dean Harens, leaves hcme because of her. In his loneliness Laughtoh turns to young, attractive Ella Raines and there deveiops between the two a tender friendship which is maliciously distorted by Laughton's wif^
