KOPUTAROA'S MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Koputaroa Women's Institute was held recently in the Koputaroa Hall, Mr:?: Koberstein presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Brown, Baker, Junr., Pene and Storey. An invitation was received from Ihakara W.I. to attend their birthday party. Arrangements were also made for Koputaroa's birthday party, which is to be held next month. The delegate read a most : interesting report on the annua l ! federation meeting, held at Lohg- | burn. Owing to the unavoidable ! absence of a demonstrator, Mrs. : Koberstein gave a fine display oi : crocheted edging and afternoon i clothes. During the afternoon, Miss j Elice Stratton delighted members ' with a recitation and Mrs. Stratton ! sang two songs. A competition | arranged by Mrs. Stratton was won ! hv Mrs. Bird.
The monthly competition, a sultana loaf, resulted as follows: — Seniors: Mrs. Chapman 1,. Mrs. Grey 2. Juniors: Joan McLaughlin 1, Joyce McLaughlin 2. The best flower was won by Mrs. Stratton (senior) and Joan McLaughlin (junior). Mrs. Kernohan won uie shrub competition. An enjoyabie meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
