Beeause a petitioner for clivorce, a sliip'.s engineer, was absent on tlie liigli seas, an unusual eourse was adopted to prove his doniicile in New Zealand when his application came before the Suprenie Court at New Plvmouth todav. ILis personal reeord card from a Gerrnan prisoner of war cainp was pro-duc-ed. His home eountrv was originally eutered on the card as England but tliis had been elianged to "New Zeelaude" in a foreign handwriting, appareutlv at the suggestion of prisoner to rectify the mistake- Besides a thninb print was a photograph which was identified as that of petitioner. Evidence of domicile was accepted by Mr. Justiee Einlay who granted a decree nisi on the grounds of a separation agreement. His Honour. expressed surprise that it was possible to produce a prison camp reeord. The expjanation, it is uuderstood, is that it was aequired as a souvcnir from the camp office when the American troops arrived to release prisonet's.
