RUGBY CONTROL
UNION EXECUTIVE MEETS At last evening's meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Union there were present Messrs. A. Gillespie (president), J. A. Zuppicich, J. D. MacFarlane, W. O. Neas, E. Cook, T. and N. Winiata,. R. L. Robinson, F. Carrington, H. Wylie, V. J. Bateman and D. Cole. An apology for qnavoidable absence was received from. Mr. H. Robson. Tokomaru Club wrote asking if it would be possible for the junior games to be held at 2 p.m. as most of their team had to be home early to milk. It was decided to do this whenever it was possible. The Levin R.S.A. requested that the. Horowhenua Rugby Union cancel all football matches on June 8. It was moved. by Mr. Robinson and seconded'by Mr. Cole that -all games be proceeded with, and that the nett proceeds for the day be donated to the Levin Brancb of the R.S.A. Clubs could by mutual agreement have their games played earlier. Mr. C. Enoka was appointed selector for the southern junior area. Mr. Cole was appointed manager for the Maori representative team and Mr. Bateman manager of the Pakeha team. The game is to be played at 2.30 p.m. on the Shannon Domain on June 3. It was also decided to run a bus from Otaki to Shannon. A challenge is to fce sent tp Bqsji for the Bebbington Shield, which is beld by Bush. A date for the match js to be decided later. It was decided that admission to all matches for everyone be one shilling.
