PorsonRl Mrs. V. J. Bateman and her daughter, have returned home from fcheir holiday in the north. Mr. and Mrs. Don Higgie left today on the first stages of a motorcrip to Auckland and Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. Higgie will visit friends and relatives in the north and jxpect to be away for about three weeks. At a recent meeting of the Shannon Women 's Institute it was decided to hold a farewell social afternoon in honour of Mrs. Aislabie, who, with ' her husband, are leaving the district. The social will oe held on Thursday afternoon and a large gathering of institute members is expected.
