WELLINGTON, May 27. I "The task of providing an uninterj rupted supply oi flour from the Bouth j Island to the two North* Island ports at j a time when the demands for coastal i shipping are so aeute and when uufavj ourable weather hampers both loading ! and uuloading operations, is proving j most diflicult," stated the Minister of J Industries and Commerce when refer- • ring to femarks made by Mr. II. E. J Earrey, president of the Wellington j Master Bakers' Association as reported yesterday concerning the present difliculties being experienced by Wellington bakers in maintaining stocks of flour. "Yesterday three ships which recentlv arrived in Wellington were engaged in discharging flour amounting in total to 825 tons, " said Mr. Sullivan. 4 ' Wet weather unfortunately dej layed thc working of these cargoes at Lj-ttelton. Two ships scheduled to load between then (500 tons of flour for Wellington, are at present delayed in loading operations on account of unfavonrahle weather conditions." Mr. Bullivan said every eifort was continuously being made to surmount existing difflculties by providing as much shipping spaee as possible for flour.
