"RAW DEAL" FROM PENSIONS BOARD
Hlrong complaints by returned servicemeu tliat they wero receiving a . raw deal from the Pensions Board led to public statements by the president of the Auckland R.B.A. (Mr. A. P. Postlewaite) and the president of the 'Auckland Mocond N.Z.E.F. Association (Mr. E. L. Thwaites). . Mr. Postlewaite said that, apart from 'ihe specialists, the jirosent medical examiners were uusuitable, and the position would be improved if the selec- : tion were left to tlie B.M.A. It was most undesirable that tliere should be , a tendency by some examiners to cut pensions down without adequate reason. Mr. Thwaites said that tlie doctors and clerks "rnled the show" in a job which was beyond their capacity. Mr. } Thwaites added tliat his association j was urging a new aystem, embracing i one Compeiisatioii Court in each of the j main ccntres. '
