TRAINS AGAIN ON WAIROA LINE
WAIROA, May 25. ITeavy slips which blocked the Nap- ' ier-Gisborne line in the Wairoa area, have been cleared suflficiently to allow of timetables being resumed. Rain on Thursday and Friday brought down falls in the vicinity of Putorino, Kotemaori, hlohaka and Raupunga. Between Putorino and Waipunga on the Napier side, was a cattle train that left liet'e Thursday night, being nnable to proeeed either Way on account of slips. The chief difficulty of tlie Railway Department was to get sufih'cient men to assist cleafihg1 the debvis from tlie line in the vicinity of Raupunga. Since Thursday night round the clock shifts operated and the strain was beginning to tell, partictilarly in viewr of the fact . that employees were working under ' atfociouB weather conditidnB. A train ! left for Raupunga at midnight with workers and another left this morning. Tlie Wellihgtoii-Gisborhe express that left Wellingtoh befoi'e 1 p.m. on Friday returned from Waipunga to Napier.
