Peirsdnal * . Miss ;M. Hodges, niatron of the \ Health Camp at Otaki, who has retired. Will be tendered a farewell afternoon on Thursday next. Messrs. Harry Strang and A. Jenklns leave on holiday for Auckland on Wednesday, while Messrs. Sid. Whlteman and Pat Ferguson follow o'n-Friday.
A vefy , pleasant evening was spent on Thursday when the staff of Otaki Textiles entertained Miss jean Maddock, who is shortly to be married. There was a large gathering, - the Druids' Hall being packed . to capacity,- and dancing, singing and games were indulged hi During the evening Mr. Hager, manager, spoke highly of Miss Maddock's abilities and wished her a very .pleasant time throughout her married life. Miss Maddock was fhe recipient of a large numioer of valuable and useful presents. Th'e recipient, who appreciated the evening. thanked all preseht for their kindness and also for : the fiiie array of presents. Victory Bait Great Success The grand victory ball in Otaki last evening was an outstanding success. Lancers from every part oi the district were present to make a " very large gathering and enjoy a night of pleasing gaiety.
