R. Long. Miss T. Westfold, of Wellington, and Mr. and Mrs. Fitches and family, of Tauranga, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Richards, Stafford Street. Mr. and Mrs. S. Sheddon, of Carterton, were visiting friends in Shannon on Wednesday. Mr. Sheddon was for a' number of years headmaster at the local school. Miss Betty Roach leaves on Saturday to take.up her new appointment on the teaching staff at Dannevirke. Miss Gunning has been appointed to the teaching staff of the Paraparaumu School. Miss Annette. Mitchell^ _ has returned from a holiday visit to Waverley, where she was the guest of Miss Qianna Hughes, "Kohi," Waverley. Miss Hughes returned to Shannon with Miss Mitehell, and on Saturday both will leave for Hamilton. The wedding took place at St. Joseph's Church, Wellington, on Wednesday by the Rev. Father O'Neill, of Eleanor, younger daught'er of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jewiss, of Wellington to Jarnes Eaneas, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James Curran, of Shannon. Mangaore Golf Team The 'following is thc Mangaore Golf Club's team, which will meet the Buckley Golf Glub in a match to be played at Mangaore on Sunday: C. Elvines, L. Elvines, R. Lester, A. Simes, J. Beech, J. Baker, R. Anderson, T. Boon, N. Birch and D. Higgie. The Buckley team is not available, but it is understood that they will field a strong team. Baskctball Teams The following. teams ' will represent Shannon in the basketball fixtures on Saturday;— A. grade: Misses I. Andrews, L:1 Pedersen, A. Pedersen, S. Johrison, R. Haley, J. Pigott, J.
