Big Jumping Events at Te Rapa
WOODVILLE TO-MORROW (Special — From L. M. M.) WELLINGTON, This Day. With the Great Nortnern Steeplechase and, Hurdles a little over a week oii, great interest is being uaken in the Waikato Hurdles and Frankton Hurdles, '-to be held tomorrow at Te Rapa, where the Waikato Racing Cluh will conclude lts winter fixiure. Most of the horses engaged in these two events
are also in the Great Northern and the outcome of to-morrow's running should give some line as to prospects in the big Ellerslie jumps. The Hamilton Handicap is also iooked upon as a good preliminary ior the Cornwall Handicap. The Woodville winter fixture is also set down for to-morrow, as also is the tiouth Canterbury meeting, which was postponed from last Saturday oecause of bad weather. Last week's Otaki running will more ohau likely prove a fairly good guide for Woodville. Reports' from the three centres at whicn the above meetings are being heid indicate that the going will be sofu. if not sliglitly heavy- as each centre has experienced a good fail oi rain during the week. Bettihg will" be win and place at the three meetings and' the following horses should run prominently in their respective engagements: .
