' Personal Mrs. R.- Roberts is away in Wellington for a- short visit. Miss Lois Lind, wlio has been on , a holiday visit to Wanganui, is ; expected home this week. Mr. £>. Doyle left on Monday to spend a fortnight with his mother and sister in Alfredton. Mrs. T. E. Harrison, who has been an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospit'al, returned home 'on Monday. Mrs. DeCent, of Wellington, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Quinlan, for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Stratford, of Dannevirke, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Stratford, of Plimmer Terrace. The friends of Miss Hopkinson, who was at one time a popular school teacher at Shannon, will be interested to hear that after the holidays she will take up her duties at Mataura, Southland. Since leaving Shannon she has been stationed at Cashmere Hills, Christchurch. Red Cross Concert At a recent meeting of the Shannon sub-centre of the Red Cross it was reported that the Wellington Tin Hat Concert Party, might not be available on a date suitable to local conditions, so it was decided to write to the Palmerston North centre on the subject of a concert party. Social Evening Miss Ailcen Colcy and Mr. Noel Jennings were the guests of the Moutoa Junior Social Club at a gift evening held in the Moutoa Hall on Monday evening. A delightful time was spent in dancing, games and competitions. During the evening, Jne opportunity' was takon by the club to make a presentation to Miss Coley and Mr, Jennings. -
