VALUES FlRM AT LEVIN SALI There was a large yarding in all classes at the weekly Levin stock sale. All prices were on a par with recent saies. " Fat wethers were easier in values owing to the qUality not' being up to recent realisations, but good fa,t ewes sold in excess of any saies of late. A fair yarding of store sheep was witnessed and good quality w.f . woolly met with ready competition. Five year ewes, running with Southdown rams were sought after, but good condition ewes were bought for fattening purposes. There was an exceptibnally large yarding of fat cattle and good quality ox and cows were keenly sought after, but the unfinished sorts were not in demand. The same applied to the veal. The specially advertised 150 20 months steers did not meet with the vendors reserve and were passed in. A pen of weaner black polled steers, the first yarded this season, yielded £4 11s, which was in excess of the . veal prices. A small yarding of dairy cattle came forward, cattle close to profit . meeting with ready demand. There was a large yarding' of pigs, but the quality was mainly poor, a large percentage needing finishing. The following prices were realised: — Sheep Prime wethers, 54s 7d, 35s 6d to 36s lOd; lighter, 31s 7d to 33s lOd; b.f; 2-ths., 26s lOd to 31s ld; extra prime fat ewes, 28s 4d; prime, 23s l'Od, 24s 7d to 25s 4d; extra prime fat lambs, 31s 4d, 32s 4d to 37s ld; prime, 25s lOd, 26s ld to 28s lOd; light unfinished lambs, 20s lOd, 22s ld to 23s 4d; fat 2-th. wethers, 27s lOd; 5-year ewes, running with S.D. rams, 22s 3d to 24s 7d; woolly w.f. wether lambs, 19s lOd; store b.f. lambs, 8s to 12s 4d. Fat Cattle Prime light ox, £16 2s 6d; second quality ox, £10 to £13 17s 6d; prime P.A. cows, £10 7s 6d to £11 12s 6d; lighter, down to £7 17s 6d; b.p. heifers, 2-years, £7 7s 6d to £9; runners, £5, 2s 6d, £8 7s 6d to £9 5s; veal, heavy, £4 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d; lighter, £2 12s 6d to £3 12s 6d; unfinished, down to 22s 6d. Dairy Cattle Heifers at drop, to £12; springing calvers, £7 to £10; empty P.A. cows, £7 to £8; bulls and fat cows, exdairy, brought late rates. Pigs Baconers, £3 18s; £4 11s to £5 5s; lieavy pork, £3, £3 5s to £3 15s; lghter, 35s, £2 ls, £2 7s to £2 18s; choppers, £4 15s, £5 7s 6d to £5 10s; stores, 28s to 30s.
