Received Saturday, 10 a.m. : _ • LONDON, May 17. A hurriedly-called Cabinet meeting consid,ered a report from Mr. Herbert Morrison on his food mission to Washington. Oue of the subjects to which the report referred was President Truman's appeal to Generalissimo Stalin for Russian aid in solving the food problems. The Press Association says it is impossible yet to say whether the Washington talks v/ill lead to further economies in* Rritain, but the administrative machinery for bread rationin$ is being worked out. In Washington to-day, Mr. Morrison announced BritishAmerican agreement had been reached on the world food ci'isis. A^joint communique is expected later.
