SHANNON BOROUGH COUNCIL RESOLUTION MAKING RATES FOR YEAR 1946-47 JVJOTICE is hereby given that the Shannon Borough Council will at a meeting of the Council to be held on Tuesday, the 11 day of June, 1946, make and levy the following rates for the period commencing on the first day of April, 1946, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1947: — General rate under section 77 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, of l|-d in the pound sterling. A Hospital and Charitable Aid rate under the provisions of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Institutions Act, 1926, of ll-16th of a penny in the ppund sterling. A special rate of one and 3 -8th of a penny in the pound sterling on all rateable' property within the Borough of Shannon to provide for the payment of interest, principal, and sinking funds on loans, and that the special rate be apportioned as follows: Conversion Loan No. 1, £575; Conyersion Loan No. 2, £76/19/4; Redemption Loan, £112. A water supply maintenance rate of l-8th of a penny in the pound sterling. A Manawatu Catchment Board rate of l-14th of a 'penny in the pound sterling. A Waterworks Loan "1946" bate of l-8th of a penny in the pound sterling. A separate rate of„id in the pound sterling on all rateable property included in special rating area loans Nos. 67 and 76. An annual sanitation fee under section 90 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, of £2 per year for each convenience in the Borough of Shannon from which the Council is prepared to remove nightsoil. All the above rates are levied on the capital value and payable in one instalment at the office of the Shannon Borough Council on the 26th day of June, 1946. Notice is" also given that the rate book containing particulars of all the above rates and sanitary charges, also the Valuation Roll containing the values on which rates are assessed is open for inspection at the Borough Council Office during office hours. PROBATIONARY ACTING SUBLIEUTENANT (Supply and Secretariat Branch) : Candidates must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 24 years on December, 31st, 1946. Candidates for entry as Probationary Acting Sub-Lieutenant (A) who possess one of the following or higher qualifications will be eligible for entry without the Entrance Examination — The Degree of Bachfelor of Laws, the degree of Bachelor of Commerce; or a complete pass in the Accountants' Professional Examination. Copies of the Regulations for the entry of officers showing conditions of service, rates of pay, etc., may be obtained from Naval Seeretary, Navy Office, Wellington, from whom application f orms can also be obtained. Applications must reach Naval Seeretary not later than June 1st, 1946, the closing date.
