AUCKLAND, May 16. Through swallowing a solid rubber crielcet ball, the last male hippopotamus at the Auckland ZoologicaV Parlc, died this morning. The ball was found as the result of a post mortem examination. It is tliouglit the Dall might have floated down the stream which runs through the hippopotamus paddock. However, it is felt it is more likely the ball was tlirown into the lrippo's mouth by some visitors to the Zoo.
