Such plans have had an enthusiastic response from the Dominions and from the United States. Sir Clarence said he hoped to be able to lay the foundations for part of the total structure of a worio community of nations, for which bankers, if they would, could make. themselves responsible. He believ-; ed the institute should promote individual and collective research on banking and financial problems. The institute's reiations with similar organisations in the Dominions and the United States should be broadened and deepened.
