R.S.A. MEMORIAL HALL
OVER £5000 ALREADY RAISED The campaign for raising funds for the construction of a memorial jhall. and clubrooms for the Levin i Returned Services' Association, I which was launehed in October .last, has so far been very success- ' ful. There still remains a considerable area to be canvassed for donations but it is hoped that this ' will be completed at an early date. During the Christmas holidays a jcarnival was held at Waitarere ' Beach, whieh realised a substantial j amount, A contribution which' wiil ! assist the fund to a large extent j wiil be the proceeds of the next meeting of the Levin Racing Club, to be held in June. This fine gesture is greatly appreciated by members of the association. At the annual general meeting of the association, held in Levin last evening, the president (Mr. H, J, Lancaster) stated that to date. over £5000 had been received, a substantial portion of which eame from' voluntary subscriptions. .It was hoped that the £10,000 required would be raised before the two } years set aside for the subscription of the fund were up, although the I original estimate would probably be j h'igher in view of the present builch 1 ing situation,
