WFLUXGTOX, May 13. Altbougli it will int-crl'crc witli tlm oar'v set tlmjjont of a number of ox-ser-vicemen, tlie Goveniment has dccided that a maximuni quantity of wheat is to be grown by the Land and Survey Defiartnient 011 blocks it has aequired for rehabilitatioti in approved wheatgrowing areas. The Minister of Kehabilitation, llon. C. F. Skinner, said there uas an unsntisfied demand for land by ex-servicenien and it was unfortunatc that the settlement of some of the blocks would now be dolayed. However, he was sure returned 111 eri would gladly accept the decision which would meaii providing more food for people who now faced starvation. .Settlement sehemes for a number of blocks were abeadv well advanced and future occupiers were working 011 wages aesisti'ng with 1'encing, etc. Their sectlons would not be sown in wlieat if hnal settlement would lio delayed. However, if the men co-neerned wished to assist the wheat production drivc and were pre]>ared to have their plans upset, the department would coo])crate to the full.
