LADIES' COMETITIONS

MISS HOSIE WINS L.G.U. No competition has been arranged by the ladies' section of the Levin Golf Club for this week, but it is hoped that as many players as possible will take the opportun-, ity of the free day on Wednesday! to play off their matches in the first round of the Park *Rose Bowl competition. Players are reminded that there is to be no placing during the playing of this competition. The winner of the May L.G.U. medal round was Miss Hos'ie, with a score of 93 — 17 — 76, foliowed. closely by Mrs. Porter "99—22—77 and -Mrs. Keenan 107 — 28 — 79. Last Saturday's C grade competition was won by " Mrs. Coutie, with a nett score of 49. Mrs. Wil-son-Grant and Miss Brewster handed in cards of 54 nett, with Mrs. Brown next with 55 nett. The draw for this week's C grade competition is as follows: — Mrs. Wilson-Grant and Mrs. H. Bull, Miss Brewster and Miss M. Bevan, Miss Leddra and Mrs. Reakes, Mrs. Brown and Miss L. Franklin, Mrs. Coutie and Miss Chapman-Cohen

and Miss Evison and Miss B. Kilsby. It has been decided by the lady members to hold a one-day open tournament on King's Birthday holiday, June 3. Players are asked to keep this date free and to watch for further details. As this is the ladies' club's first venture in this direction since the outbreak of war, it is particularly desired that as many members as possible will lend their support by entering in the various competitions to be played that day.
