CHRISTCHURCH, May 14. Frances Noel Harkness, naval rating, was senten'ced to three vears' reformative detention for the attempted murder of his wife, Joyee Alison Harkness, in the Supreme Sourt this morning. Mr. Justice Fair said Harkness' service in submarines _ would be taken into account, but in view of the gravity of the ofT'qnCe and the injuries inflicted on his Wife, three -rs was the least sehtence possible.
