Mrs. Jessib Watt, of Hastings, celebrates her i04th birthday tomoffow. She is at present an inmate pf the Napier Hospital, having been injured in an accident in i 1940, but retains eommand of her faculties. Mrs. Watt, who celebrated her 90th birthday with an aeroplane fiight over Hastings, resided in the Wanganui district for 79 years. Mr. H. Coyle, the well-known racing handicapper is shortly rei tiring from his position with thb 21 I clubs for which he acts in the North Isliand. Mr. Coyle has been handi- i •capper fo rthe Wellington Racing j Club since 1914. His fihst .appbint- * mpnt was in 1900 with thfe Ohingaiti Racing Club, a non-totalisator body registered with the Wanganui Racing Club* He was appointed handicapper,. by the Hawke's Bay Club ih 1905 and since then has framed weights for inbst of the leading clubs in the lower half of ;the North Island. Mr. A. E. Tarrant, of Wellington, Dominion president of the Junior Ghambers of Commerce, leaves this v/efek to attend the United States National Convention of junior chambers in Milwaukee next month. This is the first occasion on which the New Zealand jiihior chambers have sent a delegatfe spfecially to attend an overseas' conference. Plans are under way for a delegation to the second convention of the Junior Chambers of Commfercfe Ihter- ■ hational, to be held at balias, !
