COLLEGE THIRDS WIN

The curtain raiser at the Levin Domain provided the crowd with movements of bright rugby. The ! match, which was played between ! College A and Foxton third grade, [ was. won by College by 30 points to ! nil. The packs were evenly matched, but the College backs were fai superior to Foxton's and they threw the ball around freely. Play in the first half was very fast and 16 points were piled up in the first 15 minutes by College. Hannan Ropata, Walker and Leddra, all scored tries and Walker converted two of these. College were frequently penalisec during the second half, but this did not prevent them increasing theii lead by a further 14 points. Triee were scored by Stannard, Ropata Lind and Giles. One of these wa:, converted by Walker. Mr. J. D. McFarlane carried the whistle.
