Tiercel Wins Shorts Hack Handicap When Tiercel staged a returu to form by winning the , Shorts Hack Handicap, he returned a big double-ligure dividend. Peter Tlieio and Kancy Vaals led to the straight front Tiercel ivith Victory Dawn just behind the leaders and waiting for a run next the rails. Tiercel took charge at the distauce and alwavs had the issue in liand. There was a good linish for the minor places. Victory Dawu canie lionie by ti.c short roule, but Kancy Vaals just beat liini. Peter Tlieio was a good fourth, Mangurakatt, Ratene and Saleve Bloom got away badly. Swift day alwavs handily placed on the rails moved outside Francis Mond entering the home stretcli and Young Trent, who was further back next to the rails took the opportmiity to advauce and get a splendid run th rough whicli turned the tide in his favour. Political Boy led most of the wav, but after entering the back the last time was given a breather and Kilnianagh went to the front from Red Glare, but there was little between these two aud Political Boy. After Red Glare fell. Kilnianagh was iu charge awhile, but Political Boy soon deposed her and rau home a wiuner by iive Iengths, with Opaltown plodding along a furlong away to be tliird. By Half a Head There was a hue iinish to the Davidson Handicap in which Second Sea! led alniost all Ihe wav. Prominent iu the run to the straight were Tc Kiwi, Derryogue, Bodeu Park, Peter's Choice. Dileas and Dink's Own. Second SeaJ h.u'ig on well and in a battle royal with Dink's Own went under by only half a head. Dileas, who had lost ground at the start was tliird, a leugth away. Peter's Choice was fourth, then Dcrrv ogue, Te Kiwi and Keen J'lay. Another to Rebate Debate took over the lead in the Borougli Hack Handicap three fuj'longs from home and led into the straight from Ghef d'Oeuvre and Prince Wan aka. Rebate went away to win by four Iengths from Chef d'Oeuvre, with Hoy Iona linishing well enough to cut Prince Wanaka out of tliird piace. Dymondi and Giher Wodding were next.
