British scientists have developed i from the homher heam direction sys- | tem, a new method of radio direcj tion enahling air or sea navigators j to fix hearings accufately within 60 i seconds. Known as the consol radio | navigation system, it dispense's with : ground operators and enahles an un- ! limited numher of ships and aircraft I to take hearings np to 1000 miles 1 over land and sea. The only need is to listen for a code signal, then count the dots and dashes during the ensuing 60 seconds. Two or more of . these stations provide a fix for the ! navigator.
