Greenaway, of Waikanae,. wfto has recenuy returned from overseas, is spending the weex-end with Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Greenaway, of Weraroa Road. The friends of Mr. H. H. Proeter, wi'ii oe pieased to hear that he has returned. to his home in Queen Street West after spending 18 wetas in the Palmerston North E-Iospital with a broken leg. Miss J. D. Brown, who has beeh on the staff of the Levin School. for the past eighteen years, has accepted a position at College Street Scnool, Palmerston North. Yesterday at an assembly of the school prior to the term holidays the chairman of the school committee (Mr. A. C. Kennerley) paid tribute . to Miss Brown's ' work during her long association with the school, and referred to her popularity with the staff and pupils. Miss Wharton, on behalf of the committee, headmaster, staff and pupils, presented JMiss Brown with a solid leather bag, [and extended the good wishes of all [for her'future. Miss Brown suit'ably acknowledged the gift.
