Posy for Maori Member At a recent meeting of a women's organisations held in Shannon, a posy was presented to Mrs. I. Peni, their first Maori sister to join up with the Women's Institute and Women's section of the Returned Services Association organisations in Shannon. Bloom Competition The monthly bloom competition held in conjunction with the Shannon W.D.F.U. monthly meeting was won by Mrs. K. Mitchell, with Mrs. W. R. Mullins. second and Mrs. C. Ward, third. The competition for sandwiches suitable for afternoon tea resulted: Mrs. Stevens 1, Mrs. A. R. Mills 2, and Mrs.-Munford 3.
