(Special — From

WELLINGTON, This Day. The'' Egmont steeplechase meeting will be concluded to-morrow when the fields will not be quite as iarge as on the first day. There are a number of fresh horses engaged both on the flat and over hurdles and eross country, Dileas, winner of the Foxton Cup last week, being aeeepted for in the Davidson Handicap. Otlier meetings set down for to-moribw are Carterton, Ohinemuri and Amberley. Handy fields are carded at Carterton, and as the Clareville course is within reasonable reacli of Wellington and Horowhen.ua, the club ean expect good support from these parts. The Ohinemuri Joekey Club has drawn large fields at its second autumn meeting at Paeroa, and provision for divisions have had to be made in the Waihi Stakes, Waitakaruru Handicap and the Hikutaia Hack Handicap. Rain that has been falling in the Wellington province since Wednesday shows signs of clearing up this morning, but the Clareville course on whieh the Carterton meeting is being heid, is holding, Wairarapa having had its fair share of rain. Win and place betting will operate at all the above fixtures and the following horses should perform well in their engagements at the respeetive meetings.
