TUIS SUFFERS THROAT TROUBLE
Previous reports said that it was unfortunate that Tuis was becoming affected in the wind. She was makiug a slight noise when galloping before she won the Railway Handieap last December aud the trouble is now becoming more pronouitced. Ilowever, the trouble docs not appear to be affectiug her greatly and this was dcmonstrated by her brilliant iinishing run in the Mount Eden Handieap last Saturday. Tuis has paid three visits t6 Auckland aud has won on eacli oecasion. There is no doubt about Tuis making a noise, but whother this is the resull of respiratory trouble or. to some throal affection hps beeu a.source of some controversy siuce the trouble . iirat became apparent. Her connections, believiug that it was eaused by some infection of the throat, took her to Auckland, not necessarily with ihe idea of haviug her operated upon, but with a view to obtainiug, an opiniou from Dr. Ring, the well-knovvn Auckland veterinai'y surgeon. Dr. Ring's diagnosis conlirmed the opinion held by the connections of the mare that the throat trouble is her rcal disability.
