It is the British Government 's settled policy to consoli (late the alliance with Egvpt as o.ne -between equal nations with comnion inter- . ests. The negotiations have begun in an atmosphere of cordiality and goodwill Reuter's Cairo 'correspondent says thal observers close to the Egyptian delega tion, expressed the view that treaty negotiations to settle the stages and date of the completion of the evacuution, would be eompleted under a fortnight. The Egyp'tians were very satisfied with the British statement whieh left no doubt about British intentions.
