Mr. Lowry also expressed the opinion that in the sporting world, a place woulcl be de/initely made for softball, and that he wras only sorry he had not taken more interest in the game ana seen more of it. Mr. Lowry then presenFd tne trophies as follows: — Centre Shield: Mr. R. Skilton (captain of Aiax» Homer Shield: Mr. G. McKinley (captain of Otaki Aces). Homer Cup: Mr. W. Teal, who obtained 37 homer runs. Homer Medal: Mr. W. Rose, (runner-up wiih 35 homer runs) . In the game between Ajax and Otaki Aces no homer runs were made, but the following secured runs: — Ajax: R. Skiltoh 1, P. Walton 1, S. Neilson 1, J. Greatba,ch 1, handicap 11, total'15. Otaki Aces: Hurley 1, Merwood 2, Hoclges 2, Mathie 1, -Winiata 1, Bloomfield 1, Julius 1, handicap nil, total 9. Other teams competing were: j Ajax 38 beat Achilles "B" 30; Ajax' '29 beat Achilles "A" 23; A"es Lodiesl 30 lost to Aces Men 31 and -Aces Menj 36 beat Aces Colts 30.
