NEW RUGBY RULES
1 A circular issued to all clubs by .the ■ New Zealand Rugby Union gives notice 01 the following alterations to 'the I scrummage rule which are in for.ee for tlie present and subsequent seasons: — "Law 15 (i) provides that.: "The far ; foot of the secoiid player- of each front row 011 the side 011 which the ball is being put in, and the feet of the player beyond, may be raised and advancetl as soon' as ball has left £he hands of the player putting it in. No other foot may be raised or advanced until the -ball' has boen touclied by one of these feet'." ; There is a further -alteration to Law 27, which does away with the option of taking scrums instead of line-outs. The ball must now lie thrown 111 from toucli.
