Aside from the never-ending troubles of recording and "shooting" the scene, there is the constant "mike shadow" to contend* vfith. Travelling on a boom; the microphone has to follow the players as ! they move about the set, catching ' the smallest whisper. Strong bright i lights behind the- set - tnrow me ! smallest object into black relief, andj the moving sound beam is a constant worry to 1 cameramen and technicians. Occasionally the shadow can be filtered with a spotlight or used for special effect, but this is rare.
