The Minister of Supply, Rt. Hon, Wilmot, said general distribution had become po3sihl& hecause Britain -was" producing a thcusand times as much as in 1S43. Penicillin, under a controlled price, would cost less in shilliugs than it did only a few mon';hs ago in pounds. Preparations had been made for large quanfcities of lozenges, powders and ointment niainly for the treatment of minor- ailments. which were expected to make " a hig popular appeal. The penicillin output was sufficient to make it poss:ble soon to export large amounts without sacrificing Britain 's neeis.
