BIG MUSICAL EVENT FOR SYDNEY
Received Wednesday, 7.50 p.m. SYDNEY, May 1. The eitv of Sydney Eisteddfod to be held in October will, according to tlieLord Mayor who is President of the Eisteddfod, oecupy an imriyalled position in its sphere in this part of the world. There will be 300 sections in the eyllabus. The prineipal event - will be the Sydney -Sun operatic aria eontest for which Ihe Sun is giving a hrst prlze ot £250, second prize of £50 " and six eonsolation prizes of £10 eaeh. An*entry of at least 200 singers who must be under 35 years of age, is expected from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. • * v * .
