POROUTAWHAO'S MEETING

There were fourteen householders present at the bi-ennial meeting of the Poroutawhao School, held on Tuesday evening. A new school committee of five wa& elected from the seven nominations received. The, chairman of the retiring committee, Mr. H. J. Kilsby, gave a talk on the activities of the committee in the last two years, and informed the meeting of the improvements which had been effecte'd. A woodwork room and a museum showcase had been provided, and also a film-strip projector. , The monthly committee meetings had been well attended. The speaker concluded by thanking the committee for its co-opera-fcion with the headmaster, Mr. D. Hartstonge.
