IYAIRY BOARD'S PLAN
By Telegraph-
WHANGAREI, April 27. Tlie New Zealand Dairy Board's marketing plan, designed to give Lack to thq industry the right to market its own produce, Avas referred to at the board's ward conference at Whangarei by ihe board's acting chairniau, Mr. A. Linton. The board, he said, had aetively- pushed the marketing plan ever sincc 1-lie. last Dominion conference, but he regretted to say -that so far it had got nowhere. The Dairy Board had doxie everytliing it possibly could to implcuient the Dominion conference -decision, but had been up against a brick wall. Thc Ministcrs had made 110 attempt whatevcr to xncct them, and had himply sheived thc question xnontli after mdntli. " "I11 view oi' its importancc botli to our industry and to the eountry- as a whole," said Mr. Linton, "wc feei we sliould have had better treatment from the Governincnt. Tlie industry will nc-vcr be satisfied until it has once again assumed control of its own produce. We have brought forward a schemc which offers coopcraliou witli tlie Goverhiiicut. We bclicve it is oue that will work satisfactoriiy, aiul we think. that the Governincnt has been unwise in not meeting us in conncction witli it. Mr. Nash has now left tlie eountry again, so it looks as if once again thc matter will be sheived, and that, unfortunatcly, though they will not say so in so mauy words, appears to be the actual policy of the Government in this matter."
