PO MARAMA HURT IN TRIAL RUN

The successful Nightly-Thil- - ceit gelding Fo Marama, met with an accident while training in Levin in preparation for his Foxton engagement. He arrived in Levin on Saturday. evening and on Monday morning was taken down to the track for a trial run. While being trotted - > down the straight he ran into the rails and ripped open his shoulder and left foreleg. His part owiier stated that it would be about two months before he returned to racing. This is particularly discouraging, because this four-year-old gelding had . bright , pros- ' pects ahead of him. He won his first race at Marton on January 2 and since then he has run consistently. He won at his last start which was on the final day at Feilding. It will probably take some time for ' him to return to f orm, but his owners are confident that he will do well. Po Marama's owners, Messrs I. and J. Cameron, also purchased Stenelaus as a yearling and brought him into prominence before selling him to an Australian owner for £5000.
