INFILTRATION OF POLES

The Germans declare that Poles are driving Germans from the I'ich agricultural land west of the Oder and ai'e pillaging the population. They warn the Allies to "think twice" before permitting further Polish oceupation of the Vorpommern territory, espeeially the Island of Usedom in the Oder Estuary. Infiltration by Poles is apparently going on without Russian consent. Only a 12-mile stretch 011 the west bank of the Oder Estuary, just north of Stettin and Odermuende through Politz and Zeigenfort, has reinained comparatively untouched. The Russians are still busy in this area dismantling ' ' and packing factory machiner.y. There they have kept the Poles in eheek. ... . The Polish Foreign Minister, Mr. Modzielewski, is quoted by the Warsaw radio as saying Poland was astonished to learn that CzechoslOvakia had placed before the Foreigm.
