Thomson brfefly qutlined -the. tions of the Federation, stating thao it spoke when necessary fo? all the ski-ing, alpining and tramping clubs of New Zealand, and had done very fine work in connection with the Dominion's national parks. . It. also irivestigated all accidents in the mountains, with a view to* eliminating danger. Towards that end it had produced the very useful book:let entitled "Safety an the Mountains."

The club captain (Mr. P. Stannard.) gave an interesting account of the Easter trip to Te Matawai Hut and the "tops," while Miss A. Moxham told- the. meeting of the outing to Palmer 's Camp. The next outing was fixed for Sunday, May 5, to tbe Ohau Hut, Mr. W. H. Ransom being . appointed leader. Of thost prqsent 25' indicated their intention of being present. A bus is to leave the post office at 8.3.0 a.m.j and it was stated that the fare wpuld be between 2s 6d and 3s per member. As the macleus to ,a library, the president. handed in some twenty -books . of .mountgin interest as 'a loan, and other members offer'ed to do likewise. Mrs. Chainey was, appointed librarian and avcharge of 3d per book was fixed, the proceeds to go to club funds. Several general matters were discussed, after which the ladies dispensed supper and the meeting concluded with a pleasant hour of social converse.
