JUMPERS IN ACTION AT AWAPUNI

Inereased activity among the jurnping brigade, added interest to the training at Awapuni- yesterday morning when several good schooling bouts were witnessed. The No. 1 grass and the course proper, with the pcgs .out 35ft., were used for galloping, the going being excellent. On the No. 1 grass, Mary Jo and Mokonui were associated over- a mile, runuing the last six furlougs in' 1.21 2-5. The last named, a seven-year-old by Ballyculane, is a member of L. Knapp 's teain and is due to make his debut in the Whirokino Steeplechase at Foxton on Saturday. He is a sound jumper and has been well schooled. Young Margaret was travelling vcry easily throughout flve furlougs in 1.5 3-5. After taking 14 4-5sec. for the first iurlong, Omahina and the two--year-old brother to The Dozer eame home well to compiete half a mile in 53sec. Airpier was timed to rnn the last three of four furlongs in 40 l-5see. Moderate got to the end of six furlongs in 1.17 2-5.
