TO-DAY AND TO-MORRQW | ' Peace has come to the world and! the victorious Allied Nations begin j their programme of reconstruction. I One phase of this is the posu-war 1 trial and punishment of " those who ; brought on the war. Such a trial is i being held in the small German-j Polish border village of Litzbark, | where Nazi General Wilhelm Grimm j (Alexander Knox) stands at the Allied Bar of' Justice. As his accusers speak, Grimm's story comes to life. He had returned to his post of sehool teacher in Litz- ! bark after the termination of the l first world war. Forced to flee after j attacking a pupil, he goes to the Munich home of his brother, Karl (Erik Rolf ) , and is disgusted to find Karl a Socialist, happy with his family, in spite of conditions in Germany. Wilhelm immediately follows the new leader j Adolph Hitler, and. becomes a fanatic worker for the Nazisr r - Six years pass, and victorious Nazi troops pour into Litzbark, with Wilhelm Grimm the commanding . general. The Germans plunder the village leaving the villagers a bare existence. The trial ends. The judge charges the jury, telling them • the -grave responsi'oility of judging Grimm and other war criminals will be theirs. ' There is an excellent supporting programme.
