URGENT SUPPLIES BY AIR
SYDNBY, April 29. Because the watersiders still refuse to load Dutch ships held up in Australian ports, Dutch navy and army planes are flying urgently-needed supplies to the Netherlands East Indies. The pl,anes, which are mostly Douglas transports, operate from Sydney and Brisbane to Sourabaya, and the supplies being florvn include fresh fruit, general foodstuffs, and equipment. A fast schedule is being maintained, and the passengers include Dutch service personnel. Beceutlv, a transport plane caught lire and was destroyed on landing at Sourabaya, but the cargo was saved.
